What is Union Bochi Bochi?

Union Bochi Bochi is a labor union where anybody can join even as an individual or even if a he/she is currently out of work.

A company cannot refuse without reason a request for negotiation by a labor union. Therefore, a union can bring a dispute between you and your company to a settlement. Our experienced and knowledgeable members will help you solve your problems.

We will answer your questions and tell you what we can do to help you solve your problems.

But it will take some time for us to assign a {Tagalog} speaking union member for your case. Please contact us in simple English or Japanese in the beginning if you can.

What should I do next?

We would like to meet you and talk with you if you choose to solve your problems together with us, Union Bochi Bochi, instead of trying to solve them on your own. Even if you meet us, you don’t necessarily have to take an action. Let’s meet and think what we can do together. You would still have a choice of doing nothing.

Do I have to pay for a consultation?

We offer consultation free of charge. We strictly observe confidentiality, as well.

But if you choose to negotiate with your company through a union, you need to join the union and become a member. You can join us, Union Bochi Bochi, by filling out a membership form with your name, address and other information, and pay one month membership fee when you meet us. Our membership fee depends upon your income while the minimum fee is 500 yen. We use the membership fee to support our activities (office expenses, telephone, transportation, etc.).

You can withdraw from the union anytime by telling us that you will.

Can’t an individual without labor problems join a labor union?

Yes, you can. There are many labor union members who choose to be so because they think “A trouble can happen anytime even though I am OK now.”

We also welcome you if you think “I want to address labor problems in Japan” or “I want to be a part of labor movement”. Union Bochi Bochi is a gathering of members with little money and time, but has made various achievements as the members have supported each other even little by little. Please contact us if you can help us in whatever way.

What is the motto of Union Bochi Bochi?

Union Bochi Bochi values freedom.

We don’t impose on others the solution that we proposes.

Nobody is forced to take part in the union’s public activities. We value dialogue, and make an effort to create an environment where people can express their opinions freely.

Though we are not a big labor union, we are striving to create a peaceful society where people can live safe and secure lives.
